The department of Computer Science and Computer Applications was established in the academic year 2010 – 2011. There were 8 students in Computer Science course and 9 students in Computer Applications course respectively. The department was led by two staff namely Mrs.V.Juliet Rani MCA, M.Phil and Mrs. Siva Deepa MCA, M.Phil. The department of Computer Science and Computer Applications was headed by Mrs. V. Juliet Rani. Later, in December 2012 the department of Computer Science and Computer Applications was separated into two separate departments and Mrs. V. Juliet Rani continued as the head of the department of Computer Science.

On 12th September 2018, an Intercollegiate Technical Symposium (SJACS-2018) was organized by Department of Computer Science. The Symposium began with the Prayer Song. Mrs.V.Juliet Rani, Head of the Department of Computer Science welcomed the gathering. The Correspondent Rev.Fr.A.Suvakkin delivered the Presidential Address. Dr.M.Milton Joe, Convener of SJACS-2018 introduced the Chief Guest Dr.R.S. Shaji, Professor at St.Xavier’s Catholic College of Engineering in Chukkankadai, Nagercoil. Dr.R.S. Shaji delivered the chief guest address. Ms. S. Nacima proposed the vote of thanks. Ms. A. Dharsheela Derly synchronized the symposium. Various events such as paper presentation, Technical and Non-Technical talk, Poster Design, Memory Game and Dance were conducted. More than 220 students from various colleges have participated in the symposium. Overall trophy was won by St. John’s college of Arts and Science, Ammandivilai, Nagercoil
On 21st February 2108, a seminar on “Challenges in Computing” was organized and the resource person was Dr. A. Sam Immanuel, Assistant Professor, Neasomany Memorial Christian College, Marthandam.
On 23rd January 2016, a seminar on “Pervasive Computing” was organized and the students were enhanced by the resource person Dr. R. S. Shaji, Professor, Noorul Islam University, Kumarakovil.
On 7th January 2015, a technical session on “Installation of System Software & Application Software” was illustrated to the students by Mr. K. Udhayan, Computer Lab administrator, St. Jerome’s College, Anandhanadarkudy, Nagercoil.
On 25th and 26th of September 2014, two days seminar on “Computer Networks and Network Security” was organized and the resource persons were Mr. V.Sakthivel and Mr. K.Sridhar from BSNL, Chennai.
On 3rd October 2013, a workshop on “Installation of System software and Application software” was demonstrated to the third year students” by Mr. M. Milton Joe, Assistant Professor of Computer science, St. Jerome’s College, Anandhanadarkudy, Nagercoil.
On 22nd February 2013, the Department of Computer Science and Computer Applications organized a “State level technical Symposium SJCOMF-13” and resource person was Mrs. H. Shajeena, the HOD of Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

On 16th October 2018, the Students of III B.Sc Computer Science has attended an “INDUSTRIAL VISIT “ at Srishti Innovative Computer Systems Pvt. Ltd, Trivandrum.
On October 16th 2018, the third year students of our department along with two staff namely Dr. Milton Joe, and Ms. S. Nacima went for an industrial visit to Srishti Innovative, TechnoPark, Trivandrum and students attended a seminar on “Software Development Life Cycle”.
On October 7th 2017, the third year students of our department along with three staff namely Mr. Milton Joe, Mrs. Mary Daisy, and Ms. Jesu Leebana went for an industrial visit to Srishti Innovative, TechnoPark, Trivandrum and students attended a seminar on “Mobile Application Technology Development”.
On 11th February 2016, the third year students of our department along with two staff namely Ms. R. Jasmine Immaculate Shelly and Mr. M. Milton Joe went for an industrial visit to Srishti Innovative, TechnoPark, Trivandrum and students attended a seminar on “Software Development Process”.
On 23rd and 24th February 2018, the third year students went to an Excursion to Queensland, Chennai accompanied by the staff Ms. S. Dharsheela Derly, Ms. S. Jesu Leebana and Mr. K. Udayan.

On 9th March 2018, Hema, Sincy, Davinshal Mini, Ashika, Rangith Kuamr, Ashwin, Antony Janan won I prize for MIME in SCAPE2K18 at St,Xavier’s Catholic College Of Engineering and Technology, Chunkankadai.
On 5th September 2018, State Level Technical Symposium was conducted by the Department of Computer Science at Infant Jesus College of Arts & Science for Women, Mulagumoodu. D.Davin Shal Mini of III CS won the First Prize and M.Shanuba of I CS won the II Prize in Technical & Non-Technical Talk. M.G.Sincy of III CS and R.Aarthy of II CS won the II Prize in Web Designing. D.Davin Shal Mini of III CS and C.Ajies Jeni of II CS won the II Prize in Paper Presentation. On 7th September 2018, 9 students from Computer Science department participated in the National Level Technical Symposium organized by the Department of Computer Applications at Noorul Islam Center for Higher Education, Kumarcoil. M.G.Sincy of III CS and R.Aarthy of II CS won the Consolation prize for Quiz Competition.
On 23 August 2017, at C.S.I Institute of Technology Nancy and Vinista of I M.sc won II prize in Debugging, Keerthana of III CS won III prize in Poster Designing, Antony Janan and Ranjith Kumar of II CS won III Prize In Short Film. A Cash prize Rs.500 awarded for each event winners.
On 27th September 2017, at Infant Jesus College of Arts and science Aarthy, Ajies Jeni of I Cs and Davinshal Mini, Sincy of II CS won III prize in ADZAP. Keerthana, Asha of III CS won II prize in Quiz. Ajies Jeni of I CS and Davinshal Mini of II Cs won II prize in Paper presentation. The overall Trophy of CNET2K17 is awarded.
On 28th September 2017, at St. John’s College of arts and Science, Amandivilai, Varsha of I CS won II prize in Western Solo Dance. Keerthan, Asha of III CS won II prize in Poster presentation. Johi, Priyadhrshini of II CS won I prize in Memory Challenge. The CATE@K17 overall trophy is awarded.
On 10th October 2017,at Nanjil Catholic College of Arts and Science, Alankara Prakasiyammal Grasmi of III CS won I prize for Paper Presentation. Ashika, Davinshal Mini, Hema, Sincy, Ranjith Kumar, Ashwin, and antony Janan won II prize in MIME. The overall trophy of TECHTHIRST-17 is awarded.The overall trophy was awarded to our college.

20th December 2016 our department students and two staff visited Charles Home, Pampanvillai and celebrated Christmas with them and presented dresses and snacks to the student of that home.
In remembrance of our student Martin a new rack along with books were inaugurated in the library by the contribution of students and staff.
