Our Department was formed during the Academic year 2010-2011. It all started with just 9 students. “Small drops make an Ocean” as the saying say now with a decade we are now with strength of more than 120 enterprising students. The students are not only groomed in education but also in various technical and non-technical activities which has helped them to be placed in various multi-national institutions around the world. We have a sophisticated and new generation computer lab to cater to the needs of the students. On 22nd February 2013,Our Department organized a State Level Technical Symposium. Mrs.H.Shajeena HOD,Dept.of Computer Science and Engineering, James College of Engineering &Technology,Navalkadu inaugurated and delievered the chief guest address. Dr.Pethuru Raj, Cloud and bigdata solution Architect,IBM,Bangalore gave the key note address to the students and enriched them with the latest developments in Information Technology sector. Mrs.J.M.Amutha Asst. Professor proposed the vote of thanks. After the inaugural session, technical session started, followed by Paper presentation, Spot Coding, Mime, Communication Game. More than 300 students from different colleges participated.”DigitEra 15” concluded with valedictory session. Rev. Fr.A. Suvakkin, Correspondent, gave the prizes for the winners and distribute the certificate to the participants. The overall championship was awarded to Francis Xavier College,Tirunelveli.
On 15th September 2015, our department organised an one day seminar on Android. The session was handled by Mr.Vignesh Kumar, Shiro Software Solutions, Nagercoil.
On 25th September 2015 an one day workshop on “Employability Skills,Modern Day Technologies(Cloud Computing ,Big data and IoTs)” was organized by our department. The technical sessions were handled by Mr.Anand, Mr.Anish and Ms.Surya from NIIT. pated in the national level technical.
On 23rd January 2016, our department conducted an aptitude test for the students to enrich their skills. A. Sugil of 3rd yr won the first prize in the event.

Oswin Jerome of 2nd year has developed his own standalone Android Application and he has also ported the app in Google Play Store.
